Become a Credit Student

  • 7 Steps to Becoming a Carroll Student

  • 1. Apply NOw

    2. Take the PLACEMENT TESTS

If you have taken the SATs or ACTs, a 500+ SAT math or verbal score or a 21+ ACT math or verbal score may exempt you from the reading and math placement tests. You will need to provide documentation of your scores. (Note: higher level math courses may still require math placement testing regardless of SAT or ACT scores.)

Placement Testing is available on a walk-in basis:
    • Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
    • Friday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    • Saturday 9 a.m. – 11a.m.

Exceptions exist for holidays and final exams. View our  Testing Center hours and checklist.
    Prepare for the test(s)

Check in for placement testing at the Admissions office (A101). There is no fee for your initial placement test. Photo ID is required at the time of testing.

    3. post Test Advising

Right after you test, you will go to the Admissions Office to pick up and discuss your placement test results with an admissions counselor or advisor. Based on this discussion, you will either return for additional testing, or you will be ready to meet with an academic advisor and register.

    4. REGISTER

Your academic advisor will help you select and register for your courses. Meet with advisor on a walk-in basis: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am -6 pm and Friday 9:30 am – 4 pm.
