    Developing a Winning Business Plan
    A well-crafted plan will act as a blueprint to build, maintain or expand your business and to present your company as a viable and sustainable business entity in the loan application process. Topics include key sections of a business plan, moving ideas from mind to paper in a clear, concise manner, tips on effectively presenting your plan, how business plans are evaluated in the loan application process, presenting your plan in an integrated and coordinated manner, and addressing business weaknesses and opportunities.

    This is one in a series of three workshops for start-up businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs. Learn how to avoid common pitfalls, explore the feasibility of your idea and increase chances for success. Hear presentations from an attorney, accountant, banker and an insurance professional. Learn how to legally define your business and register your business name, keep proper financial records and report taxes, assess the insurance requirements needed to safeguard your business and personal assets, and evaluate alternatives for accessing investment and working capital. The workshop also reviews relevant Maryland business law and provides an overview of the marketing resources available through the Northern Region SBDC.
