Accreditation, Middle States Commission on Higher Education

Carroll Community College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 (267-284-5000). The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

The college was granted full accreditation in 1996. College accreditation was reaffirmed after evaluation team visits in 2006 and 2011:

Approval, Maryland Higher Education Commission

Carroll Community College was approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission on April 14, 1993, to operate as a community college in the State of Maryland. The approval authorizes the College to award associate degrees and lower division certificates.

Program Accreditation and Approval

The Physical Therapy Assistant program has been accredited since 1996 by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). The program had its reaccreditation site visit in March 2011.

The Associate Degree Nursing Program has been approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing.

The Carroll Community College Practical Nursing program has been approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing.

Governance

The college is governed by a seven member Board of Trustees, appointed by the Governor of Maryland.
