Joan Bevelaqua: Black Dresses and Other Paintings
Art Exhibit to be Held in the Gallery in the Scott Center
A widely exhibited and award-winning artist, Joan Bevelaqua, will display her works at Carroll Community College in the Gallery in the Scott Center. A reception will be held in the Gallery on Sunday, Oct. 28 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through Friday, Dec. 7, 2007.Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Joan's works employ images that explore the physiological and subconscious nature
of reality. Her oils and watercolors create an illusion of naturalism while alluding to universal and archetypal meanings. Joan often uses imagery from literature in
her search for personal themes.
"Promoting the Fine and Performing Arts is a major priority at Carroll Community College. I strongly believe that the caliber and variety of fine arts events at Carroll make the college a cultural arts destination for country residents and workers, as well as visitors to the area," said College President Dr. Faye Papapalardo.
