Carroll Community College Presents "Romeo and Juliet"
William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the classic story of two young, star-crossed lovers, will be presented at Carroll Community College on Jan. 25, 2008 at 7:30 p.m., Jan. 26, 2008 at 3 p.m., and 7:30 p.m., and Jan. 27, 2008 at 3 p.m. Performances will be held in the Theater in the Scott Center. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children/seniors. Students, faculty, and staff are free with an I.D.
"Promoting the Fine and Performing Arts is a major priority at Carroll Community College. I strongly believe that the caliber and variety of theater, music, and fine arts events at Carroll make the college a cultural arts destination for county residents and workers, as well as for visitors to the area," said College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo.
"This partnership production between the college Fine and Performing Arts division and the Shakespeare Factory is an epic tale of love and loss," said Bill Gillett, theater director at the college. "In the midst of a bloody feud, fragile love unfolds. Filled with all the passion and turbulence of young love, this timeless story is a masterpiece of poetry and a whirlwind of emotion."
Special performances for school audiences will be held on January 17 and 18, 2008.
