Carroll Community College Welcomes New Employees
Several new employees have joined Carroll Community College, effective Jan. 7, 2008.
MARIA BURNESS is an Instructor in Mathematics. Prior to assuming her new position, Burness was an adjunct faculty member at Carroll Community College for the past five years and has taught as an adjunct at Howard Community College for one year. She has over 16 years of technical knowledge from industry, most recently as a Quality Assurance Engineer from Lucent Technologies. Burness has a master's degree in distance education from University of Maryland University College and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from University of Maryland, College Park.
MICHAEL CONNERS is a campus safety and security officer. Conners earned a certificate from the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Academy. He has eleven years of prior experience as a correctional officer with Montgomery County Government.
LISA KELEMEN is an assistant professor in nursing. She was a clinical adjunct nursing instructor at Carroll. Kelemen has been a registered nurse since 1996. For the past three years, she has worked as a health policy analyst at the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Kelemen earned an MSN from University of Maryland in Nursing and Health Policy. Her BSN is also from University of Maryland.
