Carroll Community College Presents Chicago
The musical hit Chicago will be presented at Carroll Community College on Thursday, March 6, 2008, 7:30 p.m.; Friday, March 7, 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, March 8, 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. A Sunday performance will be held March 9, 3:00 p.m. General Admission is $10. Admission is free for students, faculty and staff with I.D.
"This play features a highly talented cast of 22, made up of Carroll Community College students, high school students, and community members," said Bill Gillett, theatre director. "Crime runs amok in 1920s Chicago. Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly, two murderesses who ambush the American legal process by battling their indictments within the court of public opinion. Using lies and deceits, these ladies, with the help of many other lovable villains, dance and sing their way through the justice system with charm, tenacity, and hilarity. "
"Chicago, winner of the 1997 Tony Award for best play revival, is expected to be a performance that is exciting and energetic; full of dancing, singing, and lots of laughs," said Gillett.
