Summer Kids@Carroll Invites Children to Explore Space

Spaceflight Institute, a space adventure program partnership with Volanz Aerospace, Inc., will be offered as part of this year's Summer Kids@Carroll program. It will be held at Carroll Community College from June 23 through July 3, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in two course sessions for age eight to ten and for age 11-14.

Participants will use NASA software, equipment, and technology they would never have access to in the commercial world. Children will learn all about spaceflight through hands-on activities and teamwork that build confidence, as well as knowledge.

Space Flight certificates are awarded upon completion.

Summer Kids@Carroll is in its fourth year of providing fun and interesting summer classes to preschool, elementary, and middle school children. The college campus comes alive with young students studying art, languages, technology, other cultures, and more.

Volanz Aerospace, Inc. is a non-profit Maryland corporation formed in 1998 to provide space science and space-related high technology educational and research programs for researchers, educators, and students of all ages.
