L. Richard Gould Honored by Community College Colleagues
L. Richard Gould, Director of Information Technology at Carroll Community College, was recently honored by his colleagues in the Maryland Community College system for his leadership of the Maryland Community Colleges Technology Advisory Board. MCCTAB is an affinity group of colleagues from community colleges statewide who share a common profession, in this case, the Chief Information Officers and technology professionals.
During Gould's four-year tenure, which was recognized as an exceptional level of service, MCCTAB completed numerous statewide initiatives, each designed to benefit Maryland's 16 community colleges and their students. These initiatives include the establishment of a statewide distance learning network, creation of a technology partnership with the University System of Maryland, expansion of the Maryland Education Enterprise Consortium and the Maryland Education Blackboard Consortium and support of the MD CC Presidents legislative agenda.
"I am grateful to the CIOs of the MD Community Colleges for their contributions and support during my tenure. I am particularly proud of the high level of collaboration among our technology organizations and the contributions of our technical experts in Security, Database, Network and Web Technologies. The knowledge transfer and resource sharing on technical initiatives such as Wireless Networking, Smart Classrooms and Labs, Learning Management Systems and Web Services has benefitted all community colleges and their students, said Gould."
Gould has worked at Carroll Community College since 1995 and resides in Columbia, Maryland.
