Carroll Community College's Psi Beta Honor Society invites the community to attend a presentation by David B. White. The topic is "Overcoming OCD & Depression: My Personal Life Journey and Recovery."
The talk will be held Wednesday, May 7 from 5 p.m. to 6:20 p.m. at the college in room L287. The cost for students with valid identification is $5 and $8 for non-students.
This presentation will include a brief discussion on symptoms of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), the brain and what causes OCD episodes, the nature of obsessions and compulsions, and stories related to White's experiences with OCD. White will discuss treatment of his OCD including SSRI's, psychotherapy, supplements, exercise, love of life and diet.
White has written a book titled: Overcoming OCD & Depression: My Personal Journey and Recover, released in 2007. The event is a fundraiser.
