Carroll Community College Receives Technology Honor

Carroll Community College (Carroll) has been named one of the top tech-savvy community colleges in the country by the Center for Digital Education and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). The designation spotlights Carroll's commitment to providing a high level of service to students and faculty through technology.

Schools were placed in three categories based on size of enrollment, with college officials providing information from the 2007 school year. At the conclusion of the fourth annual Digital Community College's survey, the top ten in each of the three categories were named. Carroll placed sixth among mid-sized colleges, with between 3,000 and 7, 500 students.

The survey examined areas of technology ranging from online admissions, student access to transcripts and grades, information security and infrastructure, to weather/campus security alerts and online library capabilities.

"We consider it an honor to be chosen for this designation," said College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo. "It is significant for us and demonstrates that Carroll always strives to be technologically progressive."

"Carroll is committed to providing state-of-the-art technology for use by our students and for our students," said Alan Schuman, executive vice president of Administration. "The commitment and hours of dedication necessary to stay abreast of cutting-edge technology initiatives by the college's faculty and staff are reflected in receiving this honor."
"Receiving this high ranking provides national recognition for the excellent technology resources at the college and the desire by administration and faculty to provide a top-quality learning environment for our students."
