Carroll Community College Offers Mental Health
and Disability Awareness Fair this Fall
Westminster, Md., Aug. 25, 2009-The Second Annual Carroll Community College Mental Health and Disability Awareness Fair will be held Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Agencies representing mental health and disability organizations are invited to participate by setting up information tables. Agencies will help raise awareness of the supports that are available throughout Carroll County.
The Governor of Maryland has proclaimed October as Disability History and Awareness Month. The observation serves to create "greater awareness, understanding, and support for individuals with disabilities," said Governor Martin O'Malley."By emphasizing disabilities awareness activities in our school systems, we are working toward a future where every person with a disability is respected and valued as a contributing member of our community."
