Family Literacy Classes, National External Diploma Program Offered


Westminster, Md., Oct. 15, 2009--Carroll Community College announces registration for Family Literacy classes.  Free classes are open to parents interested in pursuing a high school diploma or improving their English language skills.  Early childhood education is available for children of participating parents.  Registration will be held at HSP's Family Center the week of November 2.  For more information, please call 410-386-2550. 

Carroll Community College offers the National External Diploma Program, which provides an alternate route for obtaining a high school diploma for adults over age 18.  A pre-screening session to determine program eligibility will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 9:00 am and Thursday, Nov. 5 at 6:00 pm at 224 North Center Street, Westminster, MD  21157.  There is no charge for the pre-screening; tuition for the program is $200.  Limited financial assistance is available for students who qualify.  Please call 410-386-2550 for information and to register for a pre-screening session.
