Electrical Apprentice Graduation Held at Carroll Community College
Westminster, Md., On May 15, 2010, 24 students graduated from the Electrical Apprenticeship Program of Carroll County. This is in partnership with Carroll Community College. The partnership has been in place for 25 years.
The training prepares electricians for the workplace. The program is approved by the Dept. of Labor, Licensing and Regulation's Division of Labor and Industry and is registered with the state of Maryland. Employers pay the cost of training for their employees.
Students attend classes two nights per week for four years for a total of 600 classroom hours of training. They work during the day as electricians, completing 2,000 on-the-job training hours per year.
