Carroll Community College Hosts "$taying in the Black by Going Green"

Westminster, Md., The Miller Entrepreneurial Institute at Carroll Community College and Sustainable Carroll will offer "$taying in the Black by Going Green," on Friday, Sept. 17 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the college.

Sustainable Manufacturing Manager for McCormick and Company Jeff Blankman will join local business owners who reduce waste and save energy while saving money and retaining profits.

The college is inviting business owners with energy savings expertise and experience to be part of a panel of speakers at the event. "We are hoping to have a panel of local business owners speak to the audience that day about their particular practices and measures. There are so many misconceptions about the price that business owners must pay in order to become more energy- efficient.  Our panel will show that "green" practices can be very cost effective," said Coordinator of the Miller Entrepreneurial Institute Marlene Titus. "Participants will get tips and strategies for making money by saving the environment."

If you have a story to share or would like to participate in the panel, please contact  Titus at 410-386-8012 or via email at

The course number is XXZ-966-A2. The cost is $19 (MD Senior Adults: $19).  To register, call 410-386-8100 or go to

(Note to media: Reporters with questions may contact Executive Assistant to the President Sylvia Blair at 410-386-8411.)
