Carroll Community College Students Selected for Maryland All-State Academic Team

Westminster, Md., —Carroll Community College (Carroll) graduates Josiah Guthland and Caitlin MacGregor were recognized at the seventeenth annual Maryland All-State Academic Team Recognition Awards Program ceremony. The ceremony was held on May 4, 2011.

Guthland and MacGregor received medallions and governor’s proclamations at the ceremony. The Maryland All-State Academic Team Recognition Awards Program is a way to recognize the scholastic achievement and student leadership among the students in Maryland’s community colleges. The program is sponsored annually by Phi Theta Kappa, U.S.A. Today, and the American Association of Community Colleges.

“I am pleased that two of our outstanding students were recognized with this honor,” said College President Dr. Faye Pappalardo, who presented the awards to the students from Carroll.

Guthland, who graduated in May from Carroll, will major in biochemistry when he transfers to McDaniel College. MacGregor, who graduated in May from Carroll, will study social work when she transfers to Stevenson University.
