Carroll Community College Adult Education Program Offers July Sessions
Westminster, Md., The Carroll Community College Adult Education Program will offer orientation for family literacy classes for those interested in obtaining a high school diploma. The free orientation will be held Wednesday, July 6 and Thursday, July 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The location is Carroll County Family Center at 10 Distillery Drive in Westminster. Early childhood education is available for children of participating parents.
Orientation for high school diploma programs for adults, including GED preparation and the National External Diploma program, are also offered by the Carroll Community College Adult Education program. The free day and evening programs will be held Tuesday, July 5 and Thursday, July 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The location is the Adult Education office at 224 North Center Street in Westminster.
Registration for English classes for speakers of other languages will provide reserved seats for students who want to learn basic reading, writing and speaking skills. Students will also learn about computers and community resources and activities. The free classes include beginning and intermediate levels. Registration will be held Wednesday, July 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday, July 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The location is the Adult Education office at 224 North Center Street in Westminster.
An official GED practice test, which is half the length of the actual test, will be held Saturday, July 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Students will received their scores on test day. The cost is $20. The location is Carroll Community College at 1601 Washington Road in Westminster.
