Carroll Community College Presents Workshop: “The Art of Powerful Non-Defensive Communication, Taking the War Out of Our Words”
Westminster, Md., -- On Saturday, Nov. 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sharon Strand Ellison (http://www.pndc.com) will conduct a one-day workshop at Carroll Community College for those interested in practical ways to effectively communicate. The workshop’s focus will demonstrate moving from the common communication model that is built on defensiveness and power struggle, to a new paradigm that has a completely non-defensive base.
The workshop is offered in partnership with Westminster Church of the Brethren. The workshop is approved by the State of Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners for Licensed Counselors for six contact hours of continuing education.
According to the trainer’s website, “Training in Powerful Non-Defensive Communication (PNDC)” offers the paradigm shift that can allow us to move past common habits of defensiveness and power struggle to a system of communication built on honesty, openness and vulnerability.
Strand Ellison is an internationally-recognized communication consultant, an award-winning speaker and the author of “Taking the War Out Of Our Words”. She is the founder and director of the Institute for Powerful Non-Defensive Communication. Strand Ellison is committed to helping individuals and groups learn communication techniques that will aid in nurturing strong community-building relationships.
