Carroll Community College Presents Art Exhibit from April 6 through May 16

Westminster, Md.-- The Babylon Great Hall will be the site of an art exhibit titled "All He Had to Say: The Paintings of Richard Neubauer, A Memorial Exhibit" from Sunday, April 6 through Friday, May 16, 2014. An opening reception will be held on Sunday, April 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Self-taught artist Richard Neubauer has said all he could say. Although his passing in September, 2013 left his friends and family devastated, they and we are the inheritors of his passion and persistence.

A draftsman at AlliedSignal after serving in the Korean War, Neubauer worked into retirement painting the portraits of hundreds of retirees. His love of the Classical art form and literature drove him to read much and study the manner and styles of Masterworks in the National Gallery, a favorite haunt for his research. Many of Neubauer’s people and landscapes are inspired by the Classics and have the warmth and ease of Dutch genre paintings. Described by his family as “a stand-up father and down-to-earth guy”, “Uncle Dick” was loved by many and both helpful and humble. Carroll Community College is pleased to present this body of work in memory of a beloved regional artist whose art graces many walls in York County, PA. A conversation with Mr. Neubauer can be seen at
