Ninth Annual Random House Book Fair Offers Fun
for Children of All Ages
While the Random House Book Fair at Carroll Community College continues to provide a venue for celebrating literacy, the event also attracts children of all ages to enjoy books and special activities just for them. The event is set for Saturday, November 12, 2005 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 1601 Washington Rd. in Westminster, Md.
The Book Fair supports student scholarships, as a benefit for the Carroll Community College Foundation.
Children will see costume characters from stories published by Random House strolling throughout the Great Hall of the college. Winners of the Student Writing Contest will read from their works, providing inspiration to other children who may enter the contest one day. Musical performances by Carroll Community College students will provide a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, while families browse books by local authors and stop by local exhibitor tables.
A children's inflatable playground and face-painting will add fun to the family day. Local librarians will read books to children during Children's Story Time. Each child who attends the Book Fair will go home with a free book.
