Carroll Community College Offers Opera Performance
Carroll Community College will present the opera "Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda" on July 19 at 7:30 p.m. and July 20 at 3 p.m.
The work is by Claudio Monteverdi. On the same days and times, a second opera, "La Serva Padrona" by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, will be performed.
The performances will take place in the Theater in the Scott Center.
General admission is $5.00. Carroll Community College students and faculty are admitted free of charge.
"Carroll Community College is pleased to bring opera to Carroll County," said Music Director Elijah Wirth. "The director is Bill Gillett and I will conduct these two modernized works." The performances will feature the talents of both Carroll Community College students and faculty."
