Carroll Community College Foundation Announces Starry Night Featured Entertainer: “The Hit Men”
Westminster, Md. On Dec. 7 at 6 p.m., Starry Night will kick-off the holiday season with a benefit performance by the musical group “The Hit Men.” The annual fundraiser is sponsored by the Carroll Community College Foundation to support students at the college.
The 60’s, 70’s and 80’s were a golden era for songwriting. During that period, acts like Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Tommy James and The Shondells, and other big name chart-busting groups created beloved hits that have been heard for generations and are woven into America’s consciousness. Now, after decades behind the scenes, some of the greatest artists who were instrumental in the success of these fabulous songs have reunited to form “The Hit Men.”
A group of six amazing performers, superb musicians, superior vocalists, great arrangers and creative composers, “The Hit Men” are the original hitmakers of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. They include three of the original performing members Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, two Tommy James’ Shondells, two founding members of The Critters, and band-mates who played and performed with Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Carly Simon and other mega-star acts.
On the road touring as “The Hit Men,” this brotherhood of musicians relive the magic they created on world stages and in recording studios years ago, bringing audiences a night of mega-hits.
This year’s event features a formal cocktail hour followed by the exclusive performance.
Starry Night proceeds benefit the Carroll Community College Foundation. Through the Foundation’s efforts, events like Starry Night enable the college to continue to be Carroll County’s premiere learning community for state-of-the-art college experiences, baccalaureate preparation, and a lifelong education that is both convenient and affordable.
Thanks to the support of our community, Starry Night moves into its seventh year in 2012. For more information about Starry Night, please contact the Carroll Community College Foundation Office at 410-386-8152, visit www.carrollcc.edu, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
