Step 5: Opening your course site early to student access.

Please check out more information on using Carroll's Blackboard by clicking into the Faculty Bb Resource tab after you login to Bb.  

All Carroll Bb course sites are set to automatically give students access on the first day of the course for classroom-based courses or one week prior to the beginning of the semester for distance learning courses.  You are encouraged to make your Bb course site available to students earlier if you are ready.  (Remember, you do not need to open the whole site to student view, but can at least post a nice welcome announcement, the syllabus, and information about you.)

To give students early access: 

• Control panel; course options; settings; course duration; advance the start date to desired date; submit
• Do not change the end date because it is set automatically to allow students 30-day access to the course site after the semester is over.
