Art Galleries

Between September and May, the college hosts art exhibitions in a variety of media and styles by students and regional and nationally celebrated visual artists. Exhibitions are held in three locations at the Washington Road campus:

The college also hosts opening receptions for selected exhibitions, which are open to the public and college community.

Off Track and Travelin’: Off Track Artists’ Co-op

Off Track Art is a local artist-run collective and gallery space in downtown Westminster featuring fine art and gifts created by 10 artists: Kevin Dayhoff Gail Elwell, Judy Goodyear, Gordon Wickes, Joyce Schaum, Charlotte Laslo, Carolyn Seabolt, Linda Van Hart, Amanda Beck Mauck and Robert Waddell. 

 

Wisdom of the Soul: Digital Art by Scott Gore
Reception: Sunday, April 7, 2 – 4 p.m.

Scott Gore is a digital printmaker who creates original limited edition Giclee prints. He is currently a professor of art and design and chairperson of the Fine and Performing Arts Department at Carroll. The esoteric teachings of Kabbalah are the inspiration for this exhibit, which takes the viewer on a spiritual journey, this is both ancient and uplifting.

A Closer Look: Photographs by Olivia Morris

How often do we think of the work that goes into making ordinary objects? Seldom do we contemplate the order of their creation, of how the notion came, the idea drawn and the design measured. Olivia Morris uses photography to encourage people to see beauty in the mundane, making the ordinary somewhat extraordinary and larger than life! Morris is a Carroll student.

Welcome to the colorful world of Charles E. Cooper Jr.!

In the eyes of Charles E. Cooper Jr., color and movement in art influence us in so many ways. Influenced by fashion design, he creates art that is colorful and vibrant, curvy and kinetic, work that represents his personality and life experience.“I want people to feel good when they see my work,” said Cooper, who teaches for the Baltimore City Public Schools.
