Located in the Hikel Business Training Center in the Scott Center Building at Carroll Community College, the Miller Entrepreneurial Institute is a one-stop resource for small businesses and entrepreneurs seeking training, peer relationships and state-of-the-art technology.
The institute offers a large conference room, computer classroom, resource library and training facility with Smart Classroom capability (laptop guided overhead projection system).

The Miller Entrepreneurial Institute offers classes as part of the Small Business Training Network of Carroll County. Four partners coming together to serve business needs - Miller Entrepreneurial Institute, Carroll County Department of Economic Development, Small Business Development Center, and Start Up Carroll all provide advice and services to help small businesses grow.
How we help you start and grow your business.
- Free training classes at the Miller Entrepreneurial Institute funded by Carroll County Department of Economic Development and Small Business Development Center.
- Additional non-credit courses for more in depth or advanced topics.
- Non-credit courses provided on campus and at the Sykesville Center (see Non-Credit Class Schedules).
- Personalized training and course creation for local businesses, local business associations and chambers of commerce. Call 410-386-8012.
- Online resources and databases including Reference USA, shortcuts to over 25 basic federal, state and local government Web sites and private business Web sites geared to assist small businesses and entrepreneurs.
- Books on business development and access to more than 700 business-related books and periodicals available in the college library.
- Current periodicals including Baltimore Business Journal, Entrepreneur and more.
- Referrals to the Small Business Development Center providing funding and support for small business counselors, confidential counseling services for start-up and existing businesses, Business Research Services, and access to network of national resources including industry experts.
- Referrals to Start Up Carroll for personal consultation (consultation provided to fledgling businesses located in Carroll County by a group of affiliate business owners in all areas of general business).
Hours
The Miller Entrepreneurial Institute is staffed by a part-time manager and open to the public during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, and by appointment.
