PTA Program - Career Opportunities

The demand for physical therapist assistants (PTAs) continues to grow, especially as the rapidly aging population faces chronic illness, disabilities and limited physical mobility. Salaries for PTA graduates range from the mid $40's to low $50's.

Trained physical therapist assistants work in a variety of exciting and challenging settings.

  • Hospitals
  • Rehabilitation centers
  • Skilled nursing facilities
  • Schools and pediatric settings
  • Private practice physical therapy offices
  • Home health agencies
  • Sports facilities
  • Research institutions

Over the last five years, 100 percent of Carroll PTA graduates who sought employment were employed within six months of graduation. Many students have employment offers prior to graduation, usually from their clinical settings. Plus, the college has a listserv and e-bulletin board, which lists all the jobs submitted by employers.
