Academic Program - Early Childhood Education ECE
The Early Childhood Education program offers quality instructional programs, grounded in relevant research, which prepares the students to lead and teach in a changing, globally influenced environment as well as produce instructional leaders who are skilled collaborators, reflective thinkers, and effective decision makers. This program offers a career program for students interested in working with children from birth to 14 years of age and a transfer program for students interested in working with children from birth to 3rd grade.
- Goal 1: Students will be able to demonstrate professional knowledge and explain the physical, emotional, social, language, and cognitive development of the young child.
- Goal 2: Students will be able to identify major theories and theorists in the field of early childhood education as well as social, and ethical issues that affect children and families.
- Goal 3: Students will be able to develop critical thinking, problem solving and performance skills by using a variety of teaching strategies and curriculum development.
