Canine Management Course Schedule

About Dogs

Learn the way instincts and genetics dictate dog behavior, which includes the different classes of dogs and different breeds. Topics include nature vs. nurture, canine body language, theories about the mind of a dog, the nature of the dog in general, how they communicate, and how they view their world. Learn American Red Cross basic first aid and CPR for dogs and cats, which may be useful should a pet get injured in your class. Learn about the natural and holistic options available to pet owners, their drawbacks and benefits. Trainers will be better prepared for emergencies and well informed about various approaches to alternative treatments for non-emergency care. Canine Training and Management Student Evaluation

Conduct a basic obedience program, in either an individual or a group setting, to demonstrate application of the training techniques taught throughout the program. Additionally, students will conduct a presentation regarding their research paper and their personal business plan.
