Study the basics of construction law including general considerations before entering into a construction contract, available claims and defenses for both public and private projects, and efficient methods for collection of payment for work performed or materials supplied. Discover how to identify potential issues beginning from contract negotiation to receiving final payment. 

Course topics include construction contracts, change orders, changes to the construction contract, Maryland Prompt Payment Act, Maryland Construction Trust law, bond claims, Maryland Mechanic's Lien Law, Federal Miller Act and the Maryland Little Miller Act.
