Carroll Community College's Sykesville Center Marks Four YearsCarroll Community College's Sykesville Center, located in the Public Safety Education and Training Center of the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, marked four years of operation in the fall of 2007. The location offers credit and non-credit courses, and is conveniently located to serve residents of southern Carroll County, as well as the community workforce.
“I attended a health class in spring 2005 and an English class the previous semester at the Sykesville Center,” said Valedina Glover. “I found the teachers to be helpful and informed about the subjects. The location is very convenient to where I live, so I can take night classes. I also found the parking is readily available.”
The new location was established as part of a partnership agreement with the Maryland Police and Correctional Commissions housed at that facility. The college utilizes four classrooms on the second level of the main building from Monday through Thursday evenings. The college provides a security officer and a receptionist on site, before and during evening class hours.
