- The History Channel - a searchable collection of popular and scholarly information including timelines, speeches, and special exhibits.
- HistoryCentral - a resource which links to other history sites and also includes much primary source material
- The Avalon Project - a collection of digital documents including links to supporting documents, relevant to the fields of Law, History, Economics, Politics, Diplomacy and Government. (Yale Law School)
- Internet Ancient History Sourcebook
- Internet Medieval Sourcebook
- Internet Modern History Sourcebook - a series of academic web sites which provide links to actual texts, maps, documents for each period.
- Middle Ages - an interactive media-rich web site which provides text and activities describing the arts, culture, economics, and daily life of feudal times.
- Renaissance - similar to the above site with the focus on the Renaissance.

- The American Memory Project - a Library of Congress effort to digitally record historical records of America's past.
- National Archives & Records Administration - the government agency charged with storing historical records and documents.
- A Chronology of United States Historical Documents - a comprehensive chronological arrangement of links to important United States historical documents found on the Internet.
- Digital History - site designed to support the teaching of American History. Sponsored by the University of Houston with cooperation from several organizations.
