The benefits of this exciting program are numerous. Hill Scholars will gain all of the advantages that are inherent in a cohort program: team building and leadership skills, a built-in support network of peers and faculty, and a safe environment to learn reflection and collaboration. Courses within the program are limited to 20 students and guarantee personal interaction with highly-motivated faculty. An academic advisor who is dedicated to the Hill Scholars program helps students highlight their competitive edge when applying to transfer institutions. Carroll Community College and the Hill Scholars Program have transfer agreements with local and national four-year colleges and universities.
The academic experience of each Hill Scholar is enriched by the guest speakers, field trips, and retreats that are a part of the program. We take great pride in our Student Life division, which constantly seeks methods to enhance the academic experience for our community of learners. Seminars in leadership, transfer options, service-learning and decision-making assist in the real-world aspects of the program. An important goal of the Hill Scholars Program is to aid each student in achieving his or her educational goals.
