As a Carroll Community College student you may successfully transfer your credits to virtually any institution of higher learning. Most programs of study have specific requirements, so it is important to select your courses carefully and align choices with the program at the receiving institution. Carroll's transfer programs are designed to fulfill requirements of most colleges and universities.
ARTSYS, the articulation system of the University System of Maryland, facilitates transferring by providing course equivalencies and recommending coursework at Maryland colleges and universities, including many Maryland private institutions.
In addition to those agreements, which comprise most majors, Carroll Community College maintains some special agreements including:
McDaniel College
Hood College
Mount St. Mary's University
Saint Mary's College of Maryland
Shippensburg University
Dickinson College
Frederick Community College
Hagerstown Community College
Howard Community College
Johns Hopkins Hospital Medical Imaging Programs
Towson University
Villa Julie College
University of Baltimore
Carroll Community College students have a one-time opportunity to take a course at McDaniel College for the price of a Carroll course.
Carroll Community College students have the opportunity to take a free course at Hood College every term including summer.
Refer to Hood College's schedule for courses.
Carroll Community College students with work experience may take courses toward a bachelor's degree in Business or Criminal Justice in the Mount's Professional Accelerated Studies program at Carroll's campus.
For more information, contact Janene Horne at horne@msmary.edu or Kristine DeWitt at kdewitt@carrollcc.edu.
A new articulation agreement with Saint Mary's College of Maryland facilitates a smooth transfer for students. To be eligible for the dual-admission program, prospective students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and must have completed at least 21 generally transferable credits. Carroll graduates with an A.A. or A.S. degree who are Phi Theta Kappa members receive the St. Mary's College Phi Theta Kappa scholarship.
Carroll Community College graduates who wish to complete their studies at Shippensburg University receive a substantial tuition discount by enrolling in the Dual Admissions Program. Interested students should consult with a Carroll advisor and complete the Dual Enrollment application before completing 30 credits to qualify for this program. Transfer students should review Shippensburg's Overview for Transfer Students to plan their coursework. Elementary Education majors should choose the Arts & Sciences degree program at Carroll and follow Shippensburg course recommendations.
Associate degree recipients from Carroll are admitted to Dickinson with junior status provided they have a 3.0 grade point average and a C or better in all applicable courses.
