Eligible students may receive monthly education benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for courses taken at Carroll Community College. The benefit amount depends on the number of credits taken and the VA chapter for which the student is eligible.
Benefit checks are sent directly to the veteran from the VA. The student, and not the VA, is held responsible for payment of all College-related expenses. If the veteran is registered for courses, their enrollment certification can be submitted online to the VA Processing Center by the Financial Aid Office beginning as early as 120 days prior to the start of the term. VA processing time for new students may take ten to twelve weeks for the initial claim. Therefore, the veteran should be prepared to pay his/her tuition and fees at the beginning of each term.
Students who are eligible for VA education benefits may also apply for financial assistance from the various federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs referred to in other areas of this site. Contact the Financial Aid Office at 410-386-8437 for more information about how to use VA education benefits at Carroll Community College.
