Carroll Food Locker Program
The Carroll Food Locker Program (CFLP) offers grocery assistance to Carroll Community College faculty, staff and students in need. The program is made possible from Student Life sponsored food drives of non-perishable food donations from faculty, staff and students.
All students, credit and non-credit, who are registered for the current semester and current faculty and staff are able to participate. No financial information is required to determine eligibility.
Apply in Student Life Office, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or stop in anytime during the designated Food Locker hours to register.
You will need to complete an information/waiver form. This simple one-page form requires your college ID number, and some basic demographic information. No name or financial information is asked. However, a signature is required for the waiver.
Once you have been determined eligible, you will receive a Food Locker ID number and card, which you must present at food pick-up.
The registration process is repeated at the start of every new term.
As a registered CFLP member, you are eligible for 4 bags of groceries per month. We suggest weekly or bi-weekly pick-ups. No more than one pick-up per week.
Food items vary week to week but primarily consist of canned foods, pasta, peanut butter, condiments, cereal, crackers, pretzels and similar items. There is quite a variety of food represented in limited quantities such as organic and ethnic foods.
A free reusable grocery bag is provided, which you should bring to future food pick-ups.
The Food Locker is located on the third level of the Great Hall, under the stairs and across from the vending machines. It is open during the follow times during the fall and spring terms.
Mondays: 10 - 11:30 a.m.
Tuesdays: 12:30 - 2 p.m.
Wednesdays: 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
Thursdays: 4:30 - 6 p.m.
Fridays: 11 a.m.- noon
Please check with the Student Life Office for winter and summer term hours.
If you are unable to visit the Food Locker during these times, you can make a pick-up appointment with Student Life (A118). However, you need to provide 24 hour notice to ensure staff availability.
Student Life always appreciates receiving donated items even when a food drive in not in progress. If you would like to donate food items, bring them to the Student Life Office (A118).
Non-food items, such as personal or household products are also wanted. These items are in great demand, and would benefit the CFLP members as well.
Canteen food vouchers provide CFLP participants with one Canteen meal per week. Student Life also can provide additional information on other resources that may be of assistance.
