Investing In A Brilliant Future

  • Message from Campaign Chair, Dave Bollinger

At Carroll Community College, the student is, and will always be, the number one priority. And thanks to you, our generous donors, we can offer the resources and programs that are required now and in the future, providing students with the opportunity to learn, thrive, and give back to the community. Investments made in state-of-the-market technology, along with scholarships to ease the financial burden on our students, have a tremendous payback for our community. Our goal is to provide Carroll County employers with the most qualified workforce, one that is prepared for in-demand jobs right now and the jobs of the future. The entire Carroll County community rallied around the “Investing in a Brilliant Future” campaign, so much so that we were able to surpass our goal. They understood the importance of giving students an opportunity, which then leads to a career that allows them to prosper and contribute to their companies, their families, and the community. It was an honor to serve as the Campaign Chair and work with so many of you to ensure that the College remains the brilliant “Jewel of Carroll County.”

  • Because of You, we achieved a brilliant future for our students and our community.

  • Because of you, our students have access to high-quality educational opportunities to advance careers, enrich lives, and strengthen the community we serve.  Below is a glimpse of Campaign Achievements.

Gifts for our High Impact Programs and Economic Development provided funding for advanced technologies and training equipment to support programs such as the Digital Fabrication Lab, STEM Program, Cybersecurity Program and Drone Pilot Program.

Gifts for State-of-the-Art Equipment & Learning Technologies contributed to a new Early Childhood Education outdoor learning lab, new Kevlar vests and communication radios to ensure the safety of our campus and campus police, and a new nursing lab shared by credit and non-credit CNA students.

Gifts for Scholarships & Student Access afforded hundreds of students annually to continue with their educational journey; dually enrolled high school students, non-credit students seeking licensure and certification opportunities, and our littlest learners at Kids@Carroll camps.  This funding also increased endowed scholarships, ensuring long term sustainability of scholarship availability.

Gifts for Advancing Student Success provided funding for the Carroll Food Locker and Tutoring programs. A new Research and Collaboration Center was created, in addition to various new initiatives, including the Carroll Alumni Association, the Carroll Lynx Intercollegiate Athletics Program and the Student Emergency Assistance Fund.

  • We are profoundly grateful to everyone who played a significant role in supporting our Campaign. Our Students and our Community's Future is Bright.

  • First in My Family Program

This program was established to support first generation students by guiding them every step of the way toward achieving their educational goals. Students are given tools and resources for success and provided the opportunity to engage with other first generation students, faculty, and staff. We know these students will set the example, being the first in their family to attend college, starting the chain of education in their own families.

The Joseph F. Shields Legacy Circle

Carroll’s first President, Dr. Joseph F. Shields, laid the foundation for the College’s future when he made the fret bequest to the College using his life insurance policy. The Joseph F. Shields Legacy Circle was established to honor and recognize individuals who wish for their legacy to continue to impact the lives of students at Carroll. The Circle provides a way to thank donors during their lifetimes and allows them to see the impact of their gift.

    Alumni Association

Our Alumni are one of our most valued assets, and it’s important to keep them informed and connected. Carroll’s Alumni Association currently has more than one hundred members who can serve as a positive influence on our students. We hope the next generation of students will benefit from their experience, helping them propel their educational pathway in the career direction they are interested in pursuing. Members can refer to the Carroll Alumni Association Facebook and LinkedIn pages, as well as a dedicated link on Carroll’s website, to stay up to date on events and other special initiatives at Carroll.

    Research & Collaboration Center

The funding of this innovative learning center will allow students to work together to develop essential skills they need for future careers, such as critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork. This dedicated space provides the opportunity for students to work on team projects, group assignments, and study sessions.
