Travel Program - Germany & Austria

    Travel and Study for College Credit

    Carroll students can earn up to three credits in one of several disciplines. With the help of a faculty mentor, students choose a topic of special interest to study on site. Course requirements may include reading texts, viewing films, journaling, writing an essay, and giving a presentation. 

    Those who travel for college credit must enroll in and pay for a travel study course: HUM or ENGL-160.

    Travel for Fun

    Students, faculty, staff, and community members can travel as Lifelong Learning students. This trip is open to everyone, including family members. Travelers under the age of 18 must be accompanied and completely supervised by an adult family member. The cost to register as a Life Long Learning student is $25.

    • Dachau 
    • Schleissheim Castle
    • Lake Ammer (boat tour)
    • Arrive in Fussen 

    Monday, June 1

    • Neuschwanstein Castle
    • Hohenschwangau Castle
    • Mary's Bridge (scenic overlook)
    • Tegelberg Cable Car and Luge Park

    Tuesday, June 2

    • Depart for Austria
    • Garmisch-Parenkirchen (winter sports resort)
    • Innsbrook (Medieval Austrian town)
    • Arrive in Salzburg

    Wednesday, June 3

    • Walking tour of Old Town Salzburg
    • Hohensalzburg Fortress
    • Salzburg Cathedral
    • Mozart's birthplace
    • Sound of Music tour

    Thursday, June 4

    • Halstatt (including salt mine)
    • Boat tour on Lake Halstatt
    • World Heritage View Skywalk
    • Farewell dinner and concert at Hohensalzburg 

    Friday, June 5

    • Return to U.S.

    Trip Costs

    Travel Cost: $3,549 (plus required travel insurance)

    Deposit: $525 ($300 deposit + $225 Insurance)

    Travelers who register by Nov. 1 will be entered into a drawing for a $350 trip discount.
    Trips have sold out before Nov. 1st in the past. 
    Early registration is recommended.

    First Payment: $1000

    Final Payment and Balance 

    Due to Witte Tours by Apr. 15, 2020
