Microsoft Office 365 for Students

  • Carroll Community College is providing Microsoft Office free of charge to students enrolled in one or more credit courses for the fall semester. This means the latest version of the full Office productivity suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and more will be available. The software can be installed on up to 5 compatible PCs and Macs, plus 5 tablets.

    To be eligible you must be enrolled in one or more credit courses for the current semester. When you are no longer eligible, you will still be able to access and print your files, but you will not be able to install new instances of Microsoft Office and you will not be able to create/save/edit files.

    To get Microsoft Office followthese steps:

    • An email will be sent to each student that registered for a credit class approximately a week before the beginning of the semester. It will contain your User Name and Password to access Office 365. The email will be from and contain “Carroll Community College” and “Students: Free Microsoft Office, Download Instructions” in the subject. If you cannot find the email please contact the IT Help Desk at 410-386-8060 or email
    • While the format of the username appears to be an email address, college provided email addresses will not be issued at this time. The college will continue using your personal email address you provided for college communications.
    • The directions for the links below will state: "Type the email address of the account you want to sign in with" or "Sign in with your work or school account". This is the username listed in the email.

    For PC and Mac

    1. Visit Your Account Management Page and log in  using the account information provided to you by the college to change your initial password and sign up for password self-service.
    2. Once password self-service is set up, visit the Office 365 Portal and log in using your updated password.

    For iOS and Android

    • Download and install from your app store.
