JOB SUMMARY
The Theatre Technician 1 supports the fine & performing arts and community events of the theater by assisting with technical and facility equipment/systems for events /productions and supporting the construction of scenic sets for theater productions as directed. This position reports to the Facilities Coordinator, Theatre.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in operating sound, lighting, video and other technical systems for events
- Setup and remove technical and facility equipment for each event
- Organize and maintain theater supplies and equipment in storage
- Support the construction of scenic sets for theater productions.
- Tracks theatre property and reports
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
- HS Diploma with aptitude for training in essential job functions
- Ability to follow directions
- Must be positive, cooperative and supportive
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of a theatre setting (i.e., workshops for constructing sets, catwalks, elevated booms), use of safe workplace practices with tools. Avoidance of trips and falls; observance of fire and building safety regulations driving and College policies. Work hours may vary <29 hours per week (generally less than 15 hours per week).
