The Associate of Arts, Arts and Sciences degree program at Carroll Community College prepares students to transfer into a baccalaureate degree program or obtain an entry level position in a variety of fields. Skills in communication, research, critical thinking and analysis, problem-solving, and scientific reasoning are the foundation of this flexible degree program, preparing students to navigate in a diverse and technological, global society. The Arts and Sciences degree requires approximately 34 credits of general education courses and 26 credits of electives. Students should select their electives based on their transfer institution’s requirements. This degree is also referred to as a customized degree or a ‘build your own’ degree.

Program Goals
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:

Diversity requirement: take ENGL 102 and an additional Diversity General Education course.
Students may choose to complete this program in an online format. Speak with an advisor to determine if online learning is appropriate.
An Associate of Arts degree requires a minimum of 12 credits of 200-level courses.
