About the Certificate

Students in our Sports Medicine Aide Certificate program gain the preferred knowledge and skills to qualify for employment as a physical therapy technician or aide. 

Courses are part of the Exercise Science Concentration and are transferrable to a baccalaureate degree program in such areas as: 

  • Kinesiology 
  • Exercise Science 
  • Pre-Athletic Training 
  • Pre-Physical Therapy

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that the job outlook for sports medicine aides, including physical therapist aides and assistants, is expected to increase by 32% from 2020 to 2030, much faster than the average for all occupations. Careers in sports medicine, such as athletic training, are projected to grow 23% within the decade.  

This data demonstrates a high demand for educated and trained sports medicine-related professionals now and in the years to come.
