JOB SUMMARY

This position performs maintenance and facility set-up duties. It reports to the Maintenance Specialist. This is a part-time, 20 hours per week position. Flexible schedule; hours will vary depending on the needs.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:      

  • Performs facility set-ups and teardowns for all events.
  • Performs painting, carpentry, routine maintenance, mechanical repairs, and assembly duties.
  • Removes snow and ice on walkways as needed.
  • Follows building and safety codes required by law, including OSHA and MOSHA, as well as Carroll Community College’s Safety Procedures.
  • Works in conjunction with the Carroll County Government Bureau of Facilities as        required.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

  • High school diploma.  At least two years of work experience with similar duties.
  • Able to use hand and power tools in the carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing fields.
  • Valid Class C driver’s license in good standing.
  • Pass criminal background check
  • Available to work evenings and weekends.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work requires the ability to lift and move heavy items (e.g., supplies, equipment, and furniture) frequently over 50 pounds and some agility.  Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

WORK ENVIRONMENT:     

Most of the work involves construction or repair using power tools and related construction equipment following those safety regulations and wearing any required safety gear; some of the work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms; use of safe work place practices with office equipment; observance of fire and building safety regulations; and observance of traffic signals when driving.

 

SALARY:

This part-time Grade 4 position is $13.03 per hour.
