Motorcycle Safety Classes Offered at Carroll Community College

Westminster, Md., April 4, 2019— Between April and October, 2019, Carroll Community College will offer a variety of motorcycle safety classes for both beginner and experienced riders.  All classes are held at the College at 1601 Washington Road, Westminster, Md., 21157.

The program offers instruction on 2017 motorcycles, very competitive prices and experienced/certified MVA instructors. 

Learn and Practice:

  • Basic operation, riding skills and strategies
  • Risk and riding
  • Proper gear
  • Clutch-throttle control, stopping, turning, shifting and basic crash avoidance skills.
  • Emphasis placed on decision making and cornering skills

Courses offered April – October:

  • Basic Rider Course & Licensure (MDOT & MVA approved)
    No previous riding experience necessary.  Successful completers receive a Completion Certificate for their Class M designation.  Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Basic Rider Course 2 – License Waiver (MDOT & MVA approved)
    For riders 18 and over with riding experience who need their Class M motorcycle license or endorsement.  Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • ProRider Advanced Motorcycle Skills Training
    For experienced riders.  Includes training exercises used by police motorcycle riders and motorcycle rodeo competitors.  Must be 18 years of age or older.
