HES-199/299, Internship in Health and Fitness

HES-199/299, Internship in Health and Exercise Science, enables students to gain practical experience in a discipline or field. Students will work under the direction of an expert in the field at least 45 hours for each credit earned. The student also meets with the on-campus instructor to place the internship experience in perspective. Prerequisite: HES-215, or permission from the instructor. Approval of Division Chair also required. Current first aid and CPR are required for admittance to this course. One to two credits. One to two bllable hours.

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
Function as a Health and Fitness Instructor.
Present case studies to other Health and Exercise Science students.
Make sound career goals.
Complete a successful interview.
Course Requirements and Grading Procedures:
Clinical coordinators evaluation is worth 300 points.
Daily and Weekly Journal Entries are worth 100 points.
Two case study presentations are worth 100 points (50 Points each).
