Course Description

ENGR-102, Statics. Students will study the equilibrium of stationary bodies under the influence of various kinds of forces. Topics studied include: forces, moments, couples, equilibrium, frames and machines, centroids, moment of inertia, and friction. Vector and scalar methods are used to solve problems. Prerequisites: completion of PHYS-111 and MATH-135, both with a minimum grade of "C". Three hours lecture each week. Three credits. Three billable hours. Offered Fall term only.
