General Education Requirements
Carroll's degree programs require you to complete a core set of General Education courses. These courses range from 20 to 36 credits depending on the program.
General Education courses are intended for you to master fundamental skills and demonstrate a familiarity of the core knowledge that is considered basic to all college-level work. These courses are transferable to all two- and four-year public institutions and many private institutions in Maryland. For details, review the policies for transfering in Maryland.
We recommend you complete a math and English course within your first 12 credit hours. You must atleast start these courses by the completion of 24 credit hours, or registration will be blocked until you meet with an academic advisor for a possible exemption from this policy.
To ensure maximum success, math and English courses should be taken during consecutive terms until the sequence is completed.
