    featuring The Doo Wop Project

Two Dominics, Dominic Scaglione and Dominic Nolfi, founded The Doo Wop Project in 2012 when both were performing in Jersey Boys on Broadway. Scaglione was portraying Frankie Valli — he also played the role in the Las Vegas and Chicago companies — while Nolfi had the role of Tommy DeVito. Said Nolfi, “We thought it would be a good idea to form a group to sing classic doo wop and take modern songs and re-imagine them as doo wop arrangements… we thought, let’s form a group and sing songs that preceded the Four Seasons. We thought it would be fun to explore the sound of that music.” The group covers doo wop’s heyday but also experiments with incorporating that style of music into contemporary numbers to reach a younger audience – they “Doo wop-ify” the songs. The Doo Wop Project begins at the beginning, tracing the evolution of Doo Wop from the classic sound of five guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today.

A Tribute to Victoria Campbell Green

Victoria C Green photo for webVicky was a unique and precious gem taken from us earlier this year at far too young an age.  She would light up a room with her charm and welcome you into her circle of friends with a light-hearted story.  With laughter that was incredibly contagious, boundless energy, and a heart that was disproportionate to her body, Vicky was an unwavering inspiration.

She was a selfless advocate who would not accept a “no” when our students and community were the beneficiaries. She worked tirelessly to make Starry Night the premier event in Carroll County and her elegant touch was both seen and felt in every detail throughout the event.

Our twelfth Starry Night, on December 1, 2017, is dedicated to our friend, Victoria Campbell Green.

The Victoria Campbell Green Memorial Nursing Scholarship, has been established in Vicky’s name to help us carry on, not just the love that Vicky had for our students, but the spirit in which she supported Carroll. Our desire is to honor Vicky’s legacy.
