Press Release:
Maryland Governor Larry Hogan will hold a cabinet meeting at Carroll Community College on Thursday, May 11 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The meeting is open to the public and doors will open at 9:15 a.m.

The college is located at 1601 Washington Road in Westminster, Md. The event will be in the Theater in the Scott Center, which is located in the T building of the college.

Governor Hogan and his cabinet of department secretaries will make a series of presentations to the audience in a theatre-style gathering. The Governor intends to deliver on an administration promise to connect local communities and citizens with state government. Last fall, the Governor and his cabinet conducted a cabinet meeting in Hagerstown, Md.

"I look forward to visiting beautiful Carroll County, connecting with citizens, and giving them a first-hand look at how we are working to change Maryland for the better," said Governor Larry Hogan. "Regional cabinet meetings give our administration an opportunity to bring state government directly to the people and to publicly demonstrate how government is working for them.”

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff and students of Carroll Community College, it is indeed my pleasure to welcome Governor Hogan and his cabinet to the college,” said College President Dr. James D. Ball. “The state and its leadership are enduring partners in the pursuit of higher education for all Maryland citizens. The Governor’s commitment to accessible and affordable, state-of- the- art higher education will help Carroll County students to become productive contributors to the economy of the state and the region.”

The Francis Scott Key Choral Ensemble will sing the National Anthem. The meeting will include a presentation by the Color Guard and a recitation of the pledge of allegiance by a student from the college.

Governor Hogan will welcome attendees, followed by presentations from the Lieutenant Governor and cabinet secretaries. Members of the county delegation will also make a presentation. The Governor will present citations to leaders and individuals, recognizing them for contributions to the community.

Following the meeting, the Governor will attend an invitation-only luncheon at the college.
