Press Release:

Carroll Community College (Carroll) will hold the 2016 Penguin Random House Book Fair on Saturday, March 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with kick-off events on Friday, March 4.

The Penguin Random House Book Fair is devoted to literacy and education, and helps to raise much-needed funding for Carroll's students.

In advance of the Book Fair, the community college invites students in grades one through 12 to enter a previously unpublished short story and/or poem in the Student Writing Contest.

The entry deadline is Monday, Nov. 16, 2015.

Each entry may have only one author, and one entry per author may be submitted for each category.

There will be a first, second and third place winner for each category-short story and poetry. Finalists will be notified in January, 2016.

In addition, Penguin Random House has once again offered to donate 100 books to the school with the most entries. Winning selections will be printed in a booklet and distributed to winners at the Book Fair. Additional copies will be available for sale.
