Carroll Community College Partners with Vehicles for Change to Drive Opportunity in Carroll County

Westminster, MD — Carroll Community College is proud to announce a new partnership with Vehicles for Change (VFC), a nonprofit organization committed to helping low-income families overcome transportation barriers while providing career training in the automotive field.

This collaboration brings VFC’s transformative programming to Carroll County, aligning with the College’s mission to empower learners, change lives, and build community.

Reliable transportation is a cornerstone of economic mobility and personal independence. Through this partnership:

• Families gain access to affordable, reliable vehicles, enabling better job access, healthcare, and family time.
• Students and returning citizens receive hands-on training in automotive technology, preparing them for in-demand careers.
• The community benefits from increased workforce participation and financial stability.

Since its founding in 1999, VFC has:

• Awarded over 8,000 vehicles to families in need.
• Positively impacted more than 26,000 lives.
• Helped recipients increase annual earnings by an average of $7,000.
• Reduced daily commutes by up to 90 minutes.

A donated car doesn’t just provide transportation—it transforms lives.

Carroll Community College supports VFC’s mission by identifying eligible families for the Car Award Program, promoting local vehicle donations to sustain the program.

The community can help by donating a vehicle—running or not—to VFC. The donation is tax-deductible and directly supports local families.
